Introduction: Do you know the difference between explosion-proof forklifts and ordinary forklifts? If you want to know, then let's take a look!
Explosion-proof forklifts are used in special places of application, so let's first understand the characteristics of explosion-proof forklifts and the characteristics of the explosion-proof forklift operation area.
1. First, in the explosion risk area where it is confirmed that there are flammable substances, the various ignition sources of the forklift itself can be strictly controlled.
2. Secondly, while the ignition source of the forklift can be properly controlled, the gas detection system can be used to detect the gas concentration in the surrounding environment of the forklift. When the concentration reaches a certain ratio of its lower explosion limit, the forklift starts to alarm and finally stops automatically, achieving the purpose of safe operation.
To ensure the safe operation of the forklift, the ignition source must be effectively controlled, including:
(1) It is necessary to eliminate static electricity that may be generated during the operation of the vehicle and prevent the outer side, tail and fork of the vehicle from catching fire due to collision.
(2) Reduce the exhaust temperature of the diesel engine, which is as high as 300-500°C, to below the specified temperature group (such as less than or equal to 135°C).
(3) The diesel engine inhales flammable gases or steam during air intake, causing overspeed and loss of control.
(4) When the forklift presents abnormal operating conditions such as high water temperature, exhaust temperature, oil temperature and surface temperature, the diesel engine should be able to be automatically shut down in time.
() When the diesel engine is normally extinguished or unexpectedly explodes, the flame will be backfired through the intake system.
(6) The exhaust flame and sparks of the diesel engine are transmitted to the surrounding atmosphere.
In summary, explosion-proof forklifts must prevent leakage, sparks, etc., so explosion-proof forklifts must undergo special treatment. The difference between explosion-proof forklifts and ordinary forklifts is mainly in the circuit, which has high requirements for the circuit, especially the motor, such as the travel motor, steering motor, hydraulic lifting motor, and the motor will generate sparks when it rotates. In some special places, there will be risks, so special protection and isolation are stopped. Or it is sealed. Some use AC motors, which are safer because they do not produce sparks when working. The connections between the wires are specially treated and protected. Therefore, in some relatively dangerous places, the safety requirements are very high, such as factories with a lot of dust, gas stations, and gas stations. Or in the workshops of some electronic factories that are very sensitive to electronic interference, explosion-proof forklifts must be used instead of ordinary internal combustion forklifts or electric forklifts.
